Was ist echt - was ist falsch? Wer spielt ein durchtriebenes Spiel und wem kann Captain Future noch vertrauen? Er weiß es nicht. Und eben diese Unentschlossenheit ist es, die sich sein Gegner, Doktor Zarro, zunutze machen will. Denn es gibt Spuren, die er unbedingt verwischt haben will, damit niemand herausfindet, wer er wirklich ist und wo er sich versteckt, um das gesamte Sonnensystem zu bedrohen. Future muss herausfinden, wie er die verloren gegangenen Spuren wieder aufnehmen kann. Und er weiß, dass die "Welt der Illusionen" für ihn zu einer tödlichen Gefahr werden kann.
