Ivan Bagryany is a Ukrainian poet, prose writer, playwright, publicist, journalist and political activist. Chairman of the Ukrainian National Council. Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (1992, posthumously), nominee for the Nobel Prize in Literature (1962). Researchers of Ivan Bagryany's work noted the writer's unique ability to 'nightmarish grotesque', extraordinary humor in the midst of despair, optimism in the midst of tragedy in the dead war, which is being waged on the vast expanses of the Eurasian empire. Ivan Bagryanyi's nursery tale 'Rozgrom' is a well-known work of Ukrainian literature, written in 1948.
