'Near Mithradat Mountain' is one of the most famous works of the Ukrainian writer Ivan Bagryany. This story was written in 1930 and is part of his collection 'Mountains'. 'Near Mount Mithradates' tells about the events of the civil war in Russia. The main character, Karpo, is a symbol of the Ukrainian Cossacks, who are trying to preserve their independence during the difficult times of the struggle between the Red and White armies.
