Die neue Raumflotte kehrt von einem Übungsflug aus dem All zurück. Von dort bringt die Besatzung Hunderte von kleinen, lustigen Pelztieren mit, die sie Ginnicks nennen. Alle sind von ihnen begeistert. Nur Jan Tenner ist besorgt und spürt eine große Gefahr. Schon kurz darauf verschwinden Menschen auf rätselhafte Weise.
