Justus muss für die Schule die 10 Gebote auswendig lernen. Wozu soll das gut sein, und was haben die Gebote mit ihm und seinem Alltag zu tun? Sein Opa, mit dem Justus nachmittags an einem Modellflieger bastelt, nennt die 10 Gebote eine Art Anleitung für ein glückliches Leben. Durch die gemeinsamen Nachmittage in Opas Werkstatt haben die beiden viel Zeit für ausgiebige Gespräche. Der Großvater wird so zum wichtigen Tröster, Schlichter, Aufklärer, Berater und guten Zuhörer für Justus' Alltagssorgen. Als der fertige Flieger schließlich hoch in die Luft steigt, hat Justus verstanden, dass die 10 Gebote auch in seinem Alltag eine Rolle spielen.
