Lewis wächst in einem Waisenhaus auf. Er ist ein kluges Köpfchen und kann einfach alles erfinden - nur nicht das, was er sich am meisten wünscht: eine Familie. Eines Tages beschließt er, einen Erinnerungs-scanner zu bauen. Mit dessen Hilfe möchte er sich an seine Mutter erinnern und dann nach ihr suchen.
