Bertram lives with his mum - a waitress. His father is serving life for murder. One day, on a whim, Bertram steals a leather jacket from a restaurant not knowing that this one act will have fatal consequences. Investigator Roland Benito and a colleague are sent to deal with a noise complaint. As they pull up to the building, they witness a man jumping to his death from a fourth-floor window. Turns out that the man is a guard at the local prison, where an inmate has suspiciously died. Is this a suicide, or something more sinister? Anne Larsen, a journalist for the national news channel, starts looking into the case. Everything seems to be connected to one prisoner - Patrick - who is serving his sentence after killing his own infant baby. As more mysterious deaths pile up, and a Supreme Court judge disappears without a trace, Rolando Benito and Anne Larsen team up in search of a link. That link turns out to be Bertram and the theft of the jacket, and now Anne's head in on the line as well.
