Liebenswerte Heldin mit Herz Nele ist sooo aufgeregt! Zum ersten Mal wird sie allein mit Mama verreisen. Da heißt es Koffer packen und Proviant zusammenstellen. Und natürlich darf sie auch die dicke Bertha nicht vergessen! Papa bringt Nele und Mama zum Gleis und winkt, bis der Zug aus dem Bahnhof davonfährt. Auf der Zugfahrt lernt sie, was ein Schaffner alles zu tun hat, spielt mit Mama ein lustiges Reisespiel, guckt sehr viel aus dem Fenster, und als es am Ende heißt: "Bitte alle aussteigen!", erwartet sie bereits Großtante Adelheid freudestrahlend am Bahnsteig.
