Auf dem südlichen Teil von Öland liegt ein altes Krongut, das Ottenby heißt. Es ist ein ziemlich großes Gut, das sich quer über die Insel erstreckt, von einer Küste zur andern, und es zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass es immer der Aufenthaltsort von großen Tierscharen gewesen ist.
