'A Scandal in Bohemia' is the first short story in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle. It was first published in The Strand Magazine in 1891. The story was first translated into Russian in 1905 by F. Laterner under the title 'Scandalous Affair in the Principality of O...'. The King of Bohemia turns to Sherlock Holmes with a request to rid him of the blackmailer Irene Adler, who is speculating on a relationship with an aristocrat.
