De Dikke Controleur geeft Thomas de opdracht om op de nieuwe spoorlijn tussen Arlesburgh en Harwick te rijden. Daar vindt hij in een ondegrondse grot een oud piratenschip. Maar hij is niet de enige die weet van het bestaan van het schip.
