Octogenarian retired bureaucrat and widower - Mr. Krishna Majumdar, suddenly passed away in his sleep, as the circumstances seem to suggest. But his son suspected foul play after scanning the death certificate report, which reported the time of demise to be much early than Majumdars' usual sleeping time. Majumdars' son had been living in the United States, and thus Mr. Majumdar was living all alone during the last many years. Majumdars' son further reported that his father was supposed to be expecting the weekly phone call from him that night but, Majumdar did not respond to multiple video calls, despite the calls coming well before his usual bedtime. Police stepped in to investigate the case and spoke to Mr. Probal Sengupta - who had been Majumdars' neighbor and companion in his chess games off late. Mr. Sengupta hinted at depression and suicidal tendencies in his chess buddy, attributing it to Mr. Majumdar's loneliness at such advanced age. His narratives seemed to be quite convincing to the investigating officer and generally to the detective department. However, Mr. Sengupta later was found to have deliberately underreported crucial facts about the case and his knowledge about similar incidents that seemed to have taken place in that same neighborhood in recent times. As the investigation headed for a stalemate with no apparent breakthrough in the offing, private investigator - Dharini Koyal, aka DK, was roped in to navigate the muddy waters. Tune in to this pulsating crime thriller to know whether DK succeeded in solving the maze crafted by an obsessive chess player in the veritable end game??
