'The Wild Landowner' is a satirical fairy tale by Mikhail Evgrafovich Saltykov-Shchedrin, first published in 1869. One landowner was terribly tired of his own peasants, and he prayed to God to rid him of them. God heeded his prayers, and from then on, things began to happen to the landowner marvelous metamorphoses.
