Molly Tremayne wendet sich angsterfüllt an den Meisterdetektiv, nachdem in Old Hall, dem Wohnsitz ihres Verlobten, sowohl dessen Vater als auch Bruder offenbar einer übernatürlichen Macht zum Opfer gefallen sind.
