Wolfgang Schadewaldt (1900-1974), bedeutender Literaturwissenschaftler und Altphilologe im 20.Jahrhundert, war Professor für Klassische Philologie und Fortleben der Antike an der Universität Tübingen. Er übersetzte die griechische Literatur der Antike, darunter Homer, Aischylos, Sophokles und Aristophanes und richtete diese teilweise für Hörspiele des Süddeutschen Rundfunks ein.
