1933. An odd group gathers for an English country house weekend party: a sickly host, a disgraced socialite, an amateur detective and her nephew, a murderous couple, an ex-army captain, and a former militant suffragist countess. The table is set for eight. By Sunday, only half the cutlery will be required, and Saturday's tablecloth will be used as a shroud.
