Als an einem Wintermorgen unter dem Brandenburger Tor die blutüberströmte Leiche eines Mannes in den Armen einer Frau entdeckt wird, schrillen bei Ex-Kriminalkommissar Magnus Böhm sämtliche Alarmglocken. Er hat diese Skulptur aus Menschenkörpern schon einmal gesehen, 14 Jahre zuvor in Rom. Die Presse stürzt sich auf den Fall und spricht von der Berliner Pietà.
