Haven lebt als Tochter eines Rangers in einem von Kanadas Nationalparks. Nirgends fühlt sie sich so wohl wie in der wilden Natur, weit ab von allen Menschen. Touristen geht sie lieber aus dem Weg, vor allem wenn sie sich so dämlich verhalten wie Jackson. Er will mit einem Freund wandern, aber die leichtsinnigen Städter bringen sich direkt am ersten Abend in eine gefährliche Situation. Haven hilft ihnen in der Annahme, dass sie anschließend abreisen. Doch stattdessen überredet Jackson sie, ihm ihre Welt zu zeigen. Und plötzlich ist da jemand, der all das, was sie bisher allein erlebt hat, mit ihr teilt. Ein verwirrend schönes, aber auch schmerzhaftes Gefühl. Denn Jackson muss bald wieder zurück in seine eigene Welt ...
