Wanneer Dusty Crophopper zich realiseert dat zijn motor kapot is, komt er een abrupt einde aan zijn succesvolle carrière als wereldberoemd racevliegtuig. Dusty besluit iets nieuws te proberen en sluit zich aan bij de doorgewinterde brandweer- en reddingshelikopter Blade Ranger en zijn vliegende brandweer.
