In diesem Jahr ist es ungewöhnlich warm am sonst so kalten Nordpol. Lars, der kleine Eisbär, entdeckt beim Spielen ein unheimliches Forscherboot in der Bucht. Doch Lars ist neugierig und trifft hier zwei Eisbärkinder, die von den Forschern gerettet und aufgenommen wurden. Zusammen mit seinem neuen Freund, Fredi, dem Dackel, hilft er den Eisbärkindern und macht sich mit ihnen auf den abenteuerlichen Weg nach Hause.
