Endlich hatten Holmes und Watson wieder eine neue Spur. Einer der Pastoren hatte eine heimliche Geliebte. Leider stellte sich auch dieser neue Hoffnungsschimmer bald als Sackgasse heraus. Auch gab es keinen neuen Hinweis darauf, ob eines der aufgefundenen Grabtücher das Original oder allesamt nur Plagiate waren.
