തിരുവിതാംകൂർ രാജകുടുംബാംഗങ്ങൾ ചിത്രീകരിച്ച അസാധാരണവും സാധാരണ ജനങ്ങൾ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്തവയുമായത് ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള ഫോട്ടോകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി ചരിത്രത്തിന് പ്രാധാന്യം കൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഒരു ആർട്ട് ഗാലറി എക്സിബിഷൻ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കാൻ ശ്രമം നടത്തുകയാണ് ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫർ കൂടിയായ സതിഷ് എന്ന ഈ നോവലിലെ നായകൻ. ഒരു കാലത്ത് ഉമയമ്മ മഹാറാണിയുടേതായിരുന്ന, ഉപേക്ഷിയ്ക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു പുരാതന കൊട്ടാരത്തിൽ അതിനായി താമസിയ്ക്കാനിട വരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹത്തെ കാത്തിരിയ്ക്കുന്ന നിയതികളെ കുറിച്ച് അജ്ഞനാണ്. ഭൂതകാലത്തെ ഏതേതോ അജ്ഞേയതകളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട അസാധാരണമായ എന്തൊക്കെയോ ഇതിലൂടെ നമ്മെ പിൻതുടരുന്നു. Satheesh, the protagonist, is a professional photographer who attempts to create an art gallery which puts emphasis on the history of Travancore. It includes many rare pictures clicked by members of the royal family. While working on this project he stays at the old and abandoned palace of Umayamma Maharani. His stay in the palace is about to change his life.
