A dying miller wants to ensure that his daughter finds a husband who will protect her after he's gone. Suitor after suitor visit the mill to ask for her hand, but none are accepted. Except for a charming man who lives in a large estate deep in the forest. When the girl is invited to visit him, she soon realises that not everything is what it seems: the man belongs to a band of bloodthirsty robbers!
