Unverhofft kommt oft ... Annalotta staunt nicht schlecht, als sie plötzlich die Farbmühle ihrer geliebten Großmutter erbt. Aber die traditionsreiche Mühle steht an der Ostsee, und Annalotta lebt in Paris – ein Umzug kommt nicht infrage. Daher will Annalotta nur für ein paar Tage an die Lübecker Bucht fahren, um die Mühle zu verkaufen. Doch kaum ist sie in Pelzerhaken angekommen, entwickeln sich die Dinge anders als gedacht. Die Frauen vom Zinoberclub – eine Gruppe leidenschaftlicher Freizeitmalerinnen – wollen den Verkauf der Pigmentmühle mit allen Mitteln verhindern. Und dann ist da noch der ebenso provokante wie attraktive Koch Leonard, der die Mühle für sich beansprucht und auch sonst für gehörig Unruhe in Annalottas Leben sorgt. -
